Stop Stress and
Anxiety
For most of us
hardly a day goes by without feeling stress of some kind,
whether it be related to work, money or relationships.
Some of these pressures are so overwhelming that you may
feel like there is no where to turn to avoid them but you
can stop stress and anxiety with a few simple tips.
Firstly examine the physical demands you are placing on your
body. Too much alcohol, caffeine and nicotine from cigarettes
are all stimulants which will make your heart race even more
without any pressures.
Having interrupted or too little sleep on a regular basis
does not allow your body’s systems to recharge. To help stop
stress and anxiety naturally regular exercise is also
important.

Stress from your life once and for all
This doesn’t mean driving yourself to that perfect body in
the gym but perhaps instead consider a walk in the park or a
swim on a warm day. Some social sport may be good for this as
well and it can give you the company of friends which also
helps to stop stress and anxiety.
If you have never tried meditation or other relaxation
techniques then, you may find that you will benefit from these
as a way to regulate your breathing when the stresses grow too
great. You don’t need to become a master of yoga or anything
but, simply learn to breathe slowly where you can slow the
heart’s racing to begin to stop stress and anxiety.
The second important tip is to look at how you run your
life.
Does everything pile up because you don’t have a plan? Do
you put off everything until the last minute? Well the simplest
method to stop stress and anxiety is to use the calendar as
your friend instead of an enemy.
Plan ahead the things that need to be done in an order of
priority and date and set yourself the goal of meeting those
deadlines that are achievable.
Don’t take on too much. If you want to stop stress and
anxiety then examine where the pressures are coming from and
with a plan you will be able to say “I am sorry but my calendar
won’t allow me to do that”.
Thirdly set aside time to socialize. Taking time out to
build friendships and relationships is very important for your
mental good health.
Having others around will reduce those feelings of isolation
and by talking with others you may find other ways to stop
stress and anxiety from overwhelming you.
The next suggestion is to seek medical help if you find that
you need some intervention to reduce tensions.
This may mean medication for a short period of time to aid
relaxation and to assist you with sleep, but won’t necessarily
be the only option to stop stress and anxiety that may be
recommended.
Therapy, even just a few consultations, to help you more
clearly see a way forward should be seen really as getting a
tune up for your mind rather than a last desperate resort.
Remember that to stop stress and anxiety is something that has
to be approached from several angles as the pressures you may
face can also come from many sources.
Ultimately dealing with body mind and soul will give you a
better quality of LIFE which is surely the overall aim.
